Robyn Dixon, star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, recently celebrated a major milestone – the opening of the first location of her skincare franchise, Embellished. After years of hard work developing her skincare line, Dixon hosted a launch party this month to commemorate the first Embellished studio in Maryland.
The studio, located in Greenbelt, Maryland, offers facials, waxing services, body treatments, makeup services and retail products. Dixon partnered with longtime friend and aesthetician Candace Dodson to bring the business to life. Dodson runs the day-to-day operations of the Greenbelt location.
“I’m so excited to finally see my vision for luxurious skincare become a reality with the opening of our first Embellished studio,” said Dixon. “It took years of research, formulation testing and dedication to get to this point, but all the hard work has been worth it.”
Dixon originally launched Embellished as a skincare line in 2021, eventually deciding to expand it into a franchise studio model. The Greenbelt location is the first of many Embellished studios Dixon plans to open along the East Coast.
“Candace and I decided turning Embellished into a franchise was the perfect way to bring our passion for skincare and wellness to more communities,” Dixon explained. “And the Greenbelt studio is just the beginning!”
The launch party on December 10 drew over 200 attendees, including Dixon’s Real Housewives co-stars Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard Bassett. Fellow Bravo personalities Porsha Williams, Toya Bush-Harris and Dr. Heavenly Kimes also came to show their support.
Guests at the soiree enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, photo ops, music and door prizes while exploring the new space and shopping Embellished products. Estheticians also provided mini facials and lip treatments as part of the experiential evening.
“I was so honored that my friends took time out of their busy schedules to celebrate this monumental occasion with me,” said Dixon. “It meant so much having their support as I step into my next chapter as an entrepreneur.”
Dixon’s husband Juan Dixon was also in attendance, along with her parents and sister. Juan gave a touching toast congratulating his wife on persevering through the ups and downs over the past few years to now running a successful business.
“Juan has been my rock through this whole process, always encouraging me to keep going even when I got discouraged,” Robyn told reporters. “I’m so lucky to have such a supportive partner – he even helped me come up with the name Embellished!”
While she credits Dodson with handling most of the studio’s operations, Dixon remains highly involved on the branding and franchise development side. She visits the location regularly to assist with marketing efforts and ensure a luxurious experience for patrons.
With one location under her belt, Dixon now prepares to expand Embellished via franchising over the next several years. She hopes to open at least four more studios in the DMV area, then spread down the East Coast to cities like Atlanta and Miami.
As seen on RHOP, Dixon has always had an interest in health, wellness, beauty and skincare, making the launch of Embellished a natural fit for the reality star turned entrepreneur. Fans will likely see Dixon’s journey with the franchise chronicled in upcoming seasons of the hit Bravo show.
